For World Consumer Day, we have a fun story from our own ranks for you.
Just this week, I stayed over at a friend’s place – and to my horror, I realized the next morning that I had forgotten my shower gel.
Of course, my friend saved me from this crisis. Well, saved might be a bit of an exaggeration. She simply said: “Just pick something.”
And there I stood – alone with what felt like an entire cosmetics department full of different care products.
As I fumbled through the endless chaos of bottles with my fingers, I suddenly – no joke, no exaggeration – came across a bottle with Braille writing on it.
I have to admit: I froze in awe for a moment and took a little time to indulge in the following thought:
Wouldn’t it be amazing if all care products were labeled in Braille?
The bottle we’re showing you in a photo practically shouts to the world that it is possible!
I – and my hair – would definitely be very grateful for that.
There are still far too few products with Braille labels. You can find a few in an article that I’ll link for you here.
But the fact is: The selection of Braille-labeled products is still quite limited here in Germany.
What about you? Do you know of any great examples of labeled food or toiletries?
Feel free to send us your favorite pictures – and maybe there’s even a story behind them.
When you think about how many products we hold in our hands every day, it quickly becomes clear: A simple Braille label could make a huge difference for many people.
So today, let’s all dream a little about how wonderful our weekly shopping trips could be if Braille labeling on everyday products became the standard.
