Today we have to go back a little further, but it will definitely be worth it.
In today’s video, Bohdan Koval introduces himself and a book published by him and the artist Anna Poliakova, who fortunately was able to leave Ukraine before the invasion. And at the end, we even get to see him in action.
Bohdan Koval is a not-so-unknown poet and singer-songwriter from Mariupol who is currently still in Ukraine. Koval came to music after going blind in 1992 and since then has mainly composed songs in the style of love poetry and chanson. He often sings his own Songs at performances.
The book he is presenting is a great all-in-one package because the songs it contains are all printed in both ink in Braille. The book also comes with a CD of the songs. The book is even suitable for learning Braille.
So, says Bohdan Koval: read, listen, sing and enjoy!
A short description of the video can be found below.
Braille 200 would like to express its heartfelt thanks to Bohdan Koval and wishes him and his family all the best during this difficult time.
Description
The first three minutes of the video show Bohdan Koval presenting his songbook. He stands in front of an upright piano that is decorated with a bouquet of purple flowers. He has dark-grey hair and wears black sunglasses and an olive-green pullover. The cover of the book in his hands is grey and depicts a person standing on a swing made of piano keys hanging from a crescent moon that is enlightening the scene. The pages are printed with song lyrics in both braille and Cyrillic letters. In the last minute of the video, Bohdan Koval stands next to a window in a room filled with bookshelves and an electric piano. He sings into a microphone while reading the lyrics from his book with his fingers.
