There are many questions about the Braille code that occupy the minds of young and old alike. But what actually rhymes with “Braille”?
In today’s contribution, Brodie Worsley from Scotland offers more than one creative answer to that question. His poem is all about the joys and challenges of learning to read by touch. Being an eleven-year-old pupil, he knows firsthand just how much fun Braille can be—if you start out with plenty of patience and have the right technique.
Thank you, Brodie, for your motivational verses!
The Scale of Braille
I like Braille, Braille is fun.
It is fun for everyone.
It can be hard to learn Braille, it will come slowly like a snail.
The more you try the more you’ll fly.
Then your hopes will shoot up high.
Keep these thumbs tucked in tight,
Feet on the floor, that feels right.
Wiggle your fingers, open and close,
Because you will need those.
Now you’re ready, give it a shot,
Your fingers will be fire hot.
Good job, I am proud,
Bye for now.
